Today as inspired avant-garde artists of this period we are creating an art form to counter commercial art and fashion. We see art to hang and art to wear, not as a symbol of class distinction but as a force for creating experience -- an opportunity to make things new, to go beyond the traditional boundaries of art and man. For many artists, art to wear is too important to be left to the fashion designers; so we create art to wear because art breaks through the traditional boundaries of "pure clothing."
